V3H14C Series Air Tritium Carbon Sampling System
The "V3H14C" series gaseous tritium carbon sampling system is designed specifically for sampling H and 14c from air. The sample is captured into an adsorbent, with H's standard adsorbent being silica gel (optional alternative) and 1C's standard adsorbent being sodium hydroxide. There are several models of this device. The version of the sampler is selected based on the requirements for the radioactive nuclides and forms to be sampled. The fully equipped model V3H14C includes two separate sampling lines for different 3H and 14C forms of sampling. The first line is equipped with catalytic combustion to capture all forms of 3H and 1C, including H, CO, and CH. The second line is used for H and 14C sampling, with only basic forms of H2O and CO2 being sampled. By comparing the differences between the two capture methods, the total amount of the studied substance in the two forms can be determined - tritium in the oxidized and unoxidized forms, and 14C in the organic and inorganic forms. The V3H14Ca model adopts a single line catalyst free design, specifically designed to capture H and 4C in the basic forms of H2O and CO2. Other modifications include independent samplers for tritium (V3H, V3Ha) or C (V14C and V14Ca). The desorption device DJ-500 can also be part of the system for releasing water captured in silicone adsorbents. The extracted samples are used for subsequent laboratory analysis. The activity values of the samples were obtained through analysis for quantitative evaluation of 3H and 14C radioactive emissions, and compared with the determined limit values.
Feature
Simple, fast, and safe replacement of mechanically corrosion-resistant sampling and receiving bottles
When using silica gel, longer sampling times or higher quantities of tritium sampling are possible compared to liquid adsorption media.
A parallel sampling pipeline (one with catalyst and one without catalyst) provides a sufficient number of samples from both pipelines for further analysis; Due to this, the results are more accurate compared to serial arrangement.
Wide range and high accuracy of flow regulation, measurement of humidity downstream of tritium capture (only CN), remote inspection and control from the host system, relative to the proportional sampling of flow in the ventilation chimney, can calculate the amount of 3H and 14c released (optional)
